Lately....

I can't get enough of THIS

I'm telling you when I think of heaven... I think of laying on a couch, kicking back with a big huge bucket of TUNA SALAD & munching away on it while watching Vampire Diaries... And then I'd finish it off with some cherry laffy taffy ropes... NOT just any laffy taffy will do, it must be CHERRY ROPES.

20 week ultrasound...

Well, this ultrasound was different than the others.... because it lasted like 45 minutes, and it was a lot of shoves and pushes on my uterus, pelvis, and tummy. Not quite comfortable. But she's still a girl, still due April 19th & cute as can be!
At my other ultrasound they tried to get cute profile shots and cute shots of the baby... at this one they were not interested in giving me a good photo-- just wanted to check & measure everything! Which is great... because she is totally perfect, & measuring great, & all her organs are intact & look healthy. But they gave us a stack of pictures that are just blurs of random body parts and organs, nothing really fun to look at. So I won't post em'.
But, happy to report all is well & normal! What a relief to go to appointments to find out your little baby is doing just wonderfully. :) Happy Mama! Can't wait to meet you in 20 weeks (or less) Sydnie!
Btw... I need suggestions for middle names... Dave is not diggin' Anne...

20 weeks (almost) and counting!

I can't believe I'm halfway there... sometimes I feel like the time is going by so slow, but in others I feel like I don't have enought time (ie: selling our condo & moving into a house)

I can definitely tell that my belly is growing! We have our 20 week ultrasound this Wednesday.... I'm always nervous at ultrasounds. I just always want everything to be ok. I'm a freak though, & worry about everything.... It's hard because I found out I have an "anterrior" placenta, meaning the placenta is in the front, & so I can barely feel the baby when she is moving... only little kicks here & there because my placenta is blocking me from feeling that movement. I know it's still early on, & I'm sure as she gets bigger I will feel her more.

Anyway here is my gross belly shot! :)

Sydnie Anne Geurts

Still deciding on the middle name... but we sure can't wait to meet our little girl! 20 more weeks to go! (hopefully less)

first baby purchase

So, I've been itching to buy something for the baby since I found out what we're having. I know it's probably silly to buy things at this point, but I could not resist. Dave & I went to Lilypads & Lullabyes the other night. This place is just full of cute things-- very pricey-- but cute. We picked out a little newborn outfit.

Cute, right? I can't wait till I have a baby to put this on. :) :)

Finally... my belly is starting to show!

I can no longer wear regular pants with out doing the hair rubberband trick. I have been waiting for my tummy to kinda pop out, and it finally has.

.... Christmas? Already?

As I was driving to work this morning, I was flipping thru the radio stations... and BAM & two different stations was CHRISTMAS MUSIC!!!

What the wha?? It's only November! I didn't care. I was so excited, I literally almost peed my pants (that tends to almost happen way too often while pregnant, haha) But seriously, I was so excited... So you may notice... I already changed to my Christmas blogging background. :)

Halloweenie!

This year was just like all the others, we dressed up, Dave in something completely outrageous (as usual) & we spent some time with the fam, & then to some Halloween Parties.

I don't know about you, but that's the scariest freaking Tooth Fairy I've ever laid eyes on!


I do not know why I don't wear this much make up more often, its obviously super attractive!

Family Pictures....

Back in August we got Family pictures with the ENTIRE Geurts family. There has not been a professional picture taken (other than weddings) since there was only one grandbaby. NOW, there are 6 grandkids, & 2 on the way!
More to come.... but here is our big, cute, happy family. :) I'm excited that our baby will have

cousins close in age. Beck was born in April, so he will only be a year older than our baby, &

Jared & Laurie are due 4 months before us. So there will be plenty of playmates! Can't wait!

my pregnant snack of choice...

So, I have not really had any cravings yet... other than Mexican food... but nothing much else. But, I have become quite fond of these little guys.

They are amazingly delicious... and so good for you! I made a promise/goal that I was going to be as healthy as possible while I am pregnant, so I don't gain too much extra baby weight. I'm terrified of blowing up huge while preggers. I finally have got some energy back & have started walking every day. I love that I almost feel NORMAL again! Not falling asleep at my desk at work, and crashing for the night right when I got home @ 5... well it makes me feel like I have a life again. It's great! :)

I wonder when the cravings will come... and if I will be able to resist the naughty ones..... hmmmm.

Well, I opted to be part of a Research Study going on at my Dr's clinic for 1st time Mom's. It basically monitors Mom's more closely, and lets me get extra cool ultrasounds, so I agreed to be a part of it.
Dave & I arrived at the appointment yesterday, at 4:30, and we waited for nearly a half an hour before we even saw ANYONE to check us in. I was fuming mad, pregnancy horomones raging at this point. The lady could see it written all over my face how pissed off I was. haha. I didn't mean to be so mad, but what can I say, my temper is short these days! So, to apologize for making me wait, they gave me an extra long ultrasound, and gave me a DVD of it... (which I will be posting soon, as soon as Dave can figure out how to get it on here) It was SOOOO cool! I had only had one ultrasound with my Doctor on my first appointment, that lasted like maybe 2 minutes, and we got one picture out of that.
So this time it was like 10 minutes, and we saw the baby, squirm, punch, kick & move around! We saw actual fingers, toes, feet, nose, lips! It was INSANE. It made it all so much more real. Oh my gosh, we were just dying at how cool it was. You don't really realize how real it is this far along, (almost 14 weeks) because you don't feel the baby... you don't really look pregnant (although my pants are starting to get tight...eek) and it just doesn't seem like anything is going on. So to take a peak inside and see that cute little baby playing around, getting annoyed at us poking at him (yes I think it's a him!) it was just the highlight of my LIFE! Yes, you read that right, the highlight of my LIFE!
I can't tell you how HAPPY I am, how happy WE ARE. This is truly such an amazing experience, and I feel so lucky & blessed that I have this little baby growing inside me. Such an incredible thing.
I can't wait to meet you little baby! April can't come soon enough.

BIRTHDAY BOY!

I have to say, my Husband is pretty amazing. And he just turned 29!! We had a day full of celebration.... he had a full on little kid's b-day party @ Fat Cat's with all his nieces & nephews & Brother & Sisters. It was a blast... he is still just a big kid at heart.
Happy Birthday Davey-Poo, I love you more than anything!!

Dave just got his Apple Developers License, so I had to get him an ipad, so he can start making APPS & Games! He' loves it...

The announcement...~continued~

So we announced to our parents the exciting news on Thursday. We got these cute shirts & I had cookies made (cuz I couldn't make cookies look that cute, trust me) And we went to both our parents houses & announced the good news! They were all so excited... it was so fun to tell everyone... I feel like I've been holding this secret in forever, even tho it has only been 12.5 weeks! haha.

Baby!!

It's official.... we are PREGNANT! Couldn't be happier! We are so excited... and can't stop smiling!! We got our first glimpse at the baby @ our 12 week Ultrasound yesterday.... might I add how freaking adorable this baby already is?!?! ;-)

Can't wait to meet you on April 19th little one!!

Know anyone who is interested in a super cute 2 bed 2 bath Townhome? It's in the heart of Bountiful. It's newer construction. It's been updated with fresh two tones paint, & carpet, & tile!
I am not a good Salesman, but really, if you KNOW ANYONE who might be interested, PLEASE tell them about this. We've lowered it to dirt cheap, I don't think we can go any lower. In fact the basement unit, which is a BASEMENT unit, with not nearly many as great features as our 2 story top unit... sold for even HIGHER than we are listing ours, only 2 months ago!

Wow, I am not going to even attempt catching up...

It has been FOREVER since I last updated this blog. I guess nothing too exciting has been going on! :)

We moved out of our condo, which is currently for sale, & has been for 60+ days with NO luck in selling the fetchin' place yet. But, we are hopeful it will sell soon! We are staying at my Grandma's empty house in Centerville... which has been quite the adventure.

Dave switched jobs again. What can I say? He get's easily bored, and is in high demand! haha. He loves it. He's working @ Smartbomb with his BFF Pat Carver, & he is doing what he has always dreamed of doing making GAMES! So we are really quite happy!


I do have some updates to post when I have time to load some pictures on here! But for now... I must say, I'm just SO excited about the Fall season... I thought I'd post this cookie recipe that I'm making tonight. My friend Rachel posted it on her recipe blog, and it looks delicious... especially if you like PUMPKIN!


I promise to quit just blog stalking all of my friends blogs, and I vow to keep this updated... at least once a month. I hope. I really need to keep some sort of journal about what's going on in our lives!


PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!

This is all you need!


One Spice Cake Mix
One 15 oz can of pumpkin
One bag of chocolate chips (I only used half)
Preheat your oven to 350. Mix the cake mix (do NOT add the oil and egg as suggested on the box; cake mix only) and pumpkin together until well combined. Add chocolate chips. The batter will be pretty sticky. Spoon dough onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 16-20 minutes! Enjoy!


HAPPY FALL TIME!

Getting in SHAPE

So... I think there is nothing in this world I hate more than going to the gym. I've always been able to do just about any diet... I'm super good at diets and eating healthy when I set my mind to it... but as for exercise?? I freaking hate it worse than anything in this entire world. I love how I feel after, and I love the results... but, I absolutely HATE actually doing it. I've never understood those people who say "oh I love working out, it feels so good!" What the hell are they smoking? There is nothing fun about it to me. But recently, I realized, if I want long term results, and to be healthy, that dieting all the time is not going to work. I always do these diets, and lose 10-15 pounds... and look great... but the second I start eating normal, those 10-15 pounds creep back on me before I know it! And I started to get really sick of that! So. The last two weeks, ME, Kristen Michelle Geurts, I have gone to the gym nearly every single night! And I've finally gotten to a point, where I am not hating every second of the work out. I'm loving the elliptical... and last night I was on it for over an hour & burned over 800 calories. It felt amazing to accomplish that, cuz before, the longest I could do cardio is like 30 minutes, before wanting to stab my eyes out.

Anyway... I made a little deal with Dave. I want to lose 15 pounds, and for every 5 pounds I lose, I get a new pair of jeans. MAJOR MOTIVATION! (Little does Dave know these are the pricey jeans!) So that would mean 3 new pairs of jeans when I reach my goal.

I have these pictures in my head when I'm sweating my guts out on that dang Elliptical/Treadmill...
