Christmas Fun

Well we had a wonderful Christmas and hope everyone else did as well!! Tons of family parties.
First was The Geurts Family party, where we received a fantastic quilt made by my mother in law Peggy! We had fun giving all the nieces and nephew presents, and watching them reinact the Nativity..

On Christmas Eve we spent it with my Mom and my siblings, and as always, had quite the time, and had a blast watching my niece get spoiled rotten!

Christmas day we spent with my Dad & family... and awaited the "big storm" that didn't end up coming until late Christmas night... I was so glad it snowed on Christmas, even if it was late, I love when it snows on Christmas, and we woke up to everything covered in white!!

Sun Valley!

This weekend we had a wonderful little get-away with some great friends, Don & Lyndsey. Lyndsey & I were good friends in Highschool, and we recently met up again after not seeing eachother for almost 5 years, and her husband & Dave had so much in common, we just have a blast hanging out, and we were really excited to go on this little ski/snowboarding trip with them. It was a total blast.
The first day we just shopped around town at all the fun little shops in Sun Valley, and ate great food, and had a fun time going thru all the little shops... the boys had fun trying on random things in the shops...

We were worried we were not going to be able to hit the slopes due to the lack of snow, but we got super lucky the 2nd night we were there we had a huge snow storm. It was awesome, because we were up at this little cabin having dinner, and the snow just came down, it was so pretty and romantic!

On Saturday we hit up the slopes, and it was a blast and gorgeous up there... but, we were so glad to go back and sit in the hot tub, because all of us were super sore.

We had a blast, and are sad that the weekend came to an end so fast, but we had a great 3 nights away, and can't wait for another weekend get away.

Gingerbread house fun... minus Davey :(

So my sisters and I made gingerbread houses, no, not the kind you make from scratch that turn out looking like miniature castles, but the kind you can buy for 8.99 at the craft store, along with some additional candy and frosting, and I must say they turned out amazing!! Brenton, my little sister Sadie's "friend" also joined in on the fun... they were huge show offs and built the perfect house... Courtney my youngest (step) sister and I built one together... and I must admit, we are AMAZING!!
Hope everyone is enjoying this fantastic holiday season!! I just love the HOLIDAYS and all the fun times with family. It is great...

My MASTERPIECE!

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Well I normally don't post this much on the blog, because there is usually not anything too exciting to blog about. But then the Holidays come along, and so much is going on, and this is almost like a mini journal to help me write down on these memories!
So this week we got a tree, for our own home, and with my Dad & his family. I love picking out the perfect Christmas tree. The past few years I've done a fake one, but this year I decided to go for a real one. It doesn't really hold up all my big ornaments as well as a fake tree does, but oh well! Its up and decorated!
And I got some sweet new ornaments this year, that I love! (excuse the crappy quality of the tree and ornament pictures, it was on my cell phone)

This week we also had my company Christmas party... well for us there is a special significance to this party, because 6 years ago it was our VERY FIRST date! I needed a date to the party, and Dave was a friend of my older brother Kasey, and he hung around at our place a lot, and I thought he was fun, and just asked him if he'd come to this "dumb Christmas party" with me, trying to make it seem like it was not really a date, so he didn't get any ideas... well, who knew that after that date we'd fall in love and date for 5 years (way too long) and then get married! Sinclair, where I work, always does an amazing Christmas party, either held at The Grand or Little America, and they always have a centerpiece that someone at your table will win... and every year except for one, we have always won the centerpiece! So I guess Daves my good luck charm. Anyway, it was the 6th anniversary of our first date, so it was fun. We always get all dressed up and have a good time. So, so far the Holiday season has been great!! Here are some pictures from our party, this is literally the ONLY time Dave wear's a tie every year... :)

Grandpa Ed

So during this very busy long weekend full of family fun, my Mom was in town, and we decided to go decorate my amazing Grandpa's grave... he died when I was 8, but he was my hero, and made a good part of my childhood magical, especially Christmas.
I love & miss you Grandpa!

Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving, and has fun getting ready for Christmas!

(sorry these pictures are kind of crappy they are from my Mom's cell phone)
