So many updates... so little time...

I'm finding it so hard to find any extra time these days! But so much has been going on. Number one reason I have no time is because I'm busy with the cutest girl in the world, AND, I took on a stay at home job! Yes! I work 4 hours a day from home for Dave's company as an online moderator for their game Animal Jam-- it is GREAT to work at home in our office-- seriously so lucky to have found this, I've got the best of both worlds. But, with that said... you would think 4 hours is not a big deal... but with a baby, let me tell you, it's SO HARD! But I love it, and I love to be able to work and be at home and be with my lover bug.

So, let us begin the update!

Where do I begin??
We headed to San Diego for a week... Sydnie's first plane ride! First Vacation! We had a blast... I've been going to San Diego ever since I was Sydnie's age, so I was so excited to take her to our families condo and show her all the stuff I loved as a kid.

We let her have her first sucker while we were in San Diego... Boy did she LOVE that!

We celebrated Dave's 30th Birthday! HOLY COW! Old man... He did not want much of a celebration AT ALL. Was not excited about turning 30. So we kept things really low key this year. With a party & Birthday dinner with his family. Our lives sure have changed since his last Birthday. Ha! CRAZY how much has changed. New house, new baby, new car, new LIFE! But he says it's been his best year yet. Only more great things to come. We sure love this guy!

Sydnie had her first taste of solid food. We started out with the Rice Cereal. SHE HATED IT. haha. Slowly she is getting use to it. But it's a battle every night to get her to eat 1/4th a cup. But we're just on week 2 of introducing foods. We have her 6 month appt on Monday, I'm anxious to see what her stats are! She is already in 9 month clothes.

This girly is amazing. I can't tell you how much fun I have with her. She is sitting up, trying to crawl, and talking/gabbing like crazy. She is so much fun. We absolutely ADORE her. She is so happy. She laughs now. She rolls around. Sits up by herself. Loves to stand with help. Loves to play with and chew on anything she can reach. She hates her carseat and being in the car. It is honestly the only time she gets very fussy. She loves the bath, has started to figure out how to splash, and play with toys in the tub, and looks forward to her bath every night. She goes to sleep really good with out any help most nights. We just lay her in her crib, and she usually goes right to sleep. Sleeps till 4 or 5 most nights, and wakes up to eat and goes back to bed for a few hours. I cannot even believe that 6 months has passed us by. Where is the time going? She is getting so big. On one hand I just love it, I love her learning new things and getting bigger... on the other hand I miss my little baby who loved to be rocked and cuddled and snuggled! Now she just wants to play and move around and be a big girl!

We bought a new car last weekend. Man was that stressful. We never have owned a BRAND new car. But we went for it. It took lots of test driving and researching to find what would work for us, but we love our new car! Hyundai Tuscon. Dave had to have it in this specific blue-- so they had to go all around the Valley searching for it. I guess if you're going to spend that kind of money, you should have what you want, right? :)

Well I'm sure I'm missing something as far as what we've been up to-- but I've got to go work while little miss is taking a nap!

4 months Old!

My baby girl is 4 months old! Where the heck has the time gone??
My precious little Sydnie Anne, you're just an absolute RIOT!

At 4 months old here is a few fun things about you:

You've been rolling over like crazy! You kick your little legs & lift your head up high, look around, and suddenly flip over. It's the cutest thing ever.

You're obsessed with your hands, and grabbing at things. You love to grab at my face, Dad's face, hair, mouth, ears, earrings. Whatever you can grasp on. You are getting so good with that eye-hand coordination.

You love to chew on all your toys. You quite fancy the new teething toy we bought you called the Nuby. You chomp on that thing constantly.

You're so interested in EVERYTHING around you, and your little expressions make us all wonder what is going on in that little head of yours! You are SUPER expressive with your eyebrows. It's HILARIOUS. You make us laugh so much with the silly facial expressions you give. Angry eyebrows, happy eyebrows, confused eyebrows, interested eyebrows... you name it, you've got a hilarious facial expression for it. It's awesome.

You're VERY vocal. Daddy says you get this from me. haha. I guess you just like your voice to be heard! It's constant cooing, singing, blabbing, screaming (happily of course). It's so much fun. Sometimes it is just like you are telling us what is UP- your coo's can get very stern sounding! Like you're telling us something REALLY important. We are listening Baby girl, very intently! :)

We bought you a jumper toy center, you sit in the middle, and can jump up and down, twist around, and play with various toys. Here you are enjoying it. You love this toy. We spend lots of time here during the day!

You are a good little eater. You eat about every 3 hours. Doctor says to wait till you are 6 months to introduce anything else into your system, you seem to be thriving, just look at those chunky cheeks & legs! That makes me feel good, I feel like I'm doing a good job, & it's always a relief when we get your stats at your Dr appointments.
You weight 14.8 lbs (71st percentile)
You are 25.5 inches (75th percentile)

You are such a joy & happiness in our lives. We are constantly saying what an AWESOME baby you are. You RARELY cry. You are always so content. You have the biggest, cutest, happiest smiles.
Never forget how much Mommy loves & adores you. You are my everything.

You did pretty well with shots when they actually happened. The night after shots... man it broke my heart! You CRIED & CRIED & CRIED! So not like you. You didn't want to be held, rocked, fed, or even take your binki. It about killed me! Finally you went to sleep at 9 & woke up at 6 am, happy as can be! Poor little legs.

WE LOVE YOU SYDNIE ANNE! You're getting to be such a big girl!

my little baby. forever.

One of my favorite things to do, is at least once a day, for one of Sydnie's naps, is just hold her like I did in the hospital, and just let her sleep on me. Feeling her breath, smelling her yummy baby smell, touching her soft baby skin. There is absolutely nothing in the world like it. NOTHING.
Here we are in the hospital.

This was today. Look at those chunky little arms & cheeks. Gosh I love her. I want to eat her up.

She doesn't really like to snuggle as much as she use to. I can tell she is growing up. It makes me sad. So I will cherish every moment like this that I have. She is my little honey. I love you baby girl!

Jammie Time

So as you can sort of see in this picture, these Jammie's are a little tight. Would you believe those are 6 month Jammies on my 4 month baby? she is HUGE! I constantly am getting told how long and tall she is. I'm anxious to find out the exact stats at her Dr appointment today.
Haha, and of course, another one of her silly faces. She is constantly making us laugh soooo hard. She is so expressive with her eyebrows. Gets that one from Daddy!

pretty little girl

Stop taking pictures Mom! Gosh!

I can't... the truth is I think Sydnie Anne Geurts is the MOST adorable thing ever!

growing up too fast!

someone is in a real hurry to be big, & independent. Since rolling over, Sydnie is trying her HARDEST to scoot/crawl/move sit up etc... I don't like this! I want her to be my baby FOREVER! :) She sure is cute trying to scoot and crawl though. She is really close. I'll be surprised if she isn't crawling by 6 months. That's only 2 months away! Can you believe it?

Sydnie's favorite thing...

I've posted several times before about us spending lots of time in the backyard. But this girl just LOVES her spot under the tree. She seriously would lay there happy as can be all day if I let her. She stares up at the tree branches and squeals happy screams, and kicks and moves. She LOVES it.

Mama's Helper!

Sydnie is getting so HUGE, and so strong. She can hold herself up and sit up great in her Bumbo. So when I'm cooking, or cleaning, or doing dishes, I set her up on the counter to hang out with me while I get some chores done. She loves to hit spoons together and make lots of noise. She is so stinkin' cute. I can't get enough of this cute little face, she is contsantly making the most hilarious facial expressions... I die laughing constantly. She sure brings a lot of happiness to our lives. She is getting so big!

Marens Birthday!

I have the most adorable, special, amazing niece. She makes this world a better place. She turned 7 years old. She was born with some real struggles, but somehow is the happiest kid ever! She is a strong little girl, and I love her so very much!
We spent the day at the Bountiful Rec Center that has a kiddie pool with slides & such. She LOVED it. We ended the day at Grandma's having cake & presents. She was thrilled!

Hangin' out with Dad

Every day when Dave gets home from work, Sydnie & him head to the backyard under the tree to spend some quality Daddy/Daughter time together & to give Mama a break. She loves it. She loves her Daddy.

Swimming with Carter!

We headed to my Grandpa's pool in Bountiful & invited Syd's favorite cousin Carter. They are only 4 months apart... although its hard to tell, because Sydnie is the same size as him. They are the same in height, and their feet are the same size! Crazy big girl.
They both loved it.

Park City!

We beat the heat a few weekends ago & headed up to Park City... it was about 15 degrees cooler, and so nice. We enjoyed a weekend by the pool, eating good food, & going on many walks! It was Sydnie's first time away from home overnight. She did great.

12 weeks old!

I meant to post this last week... but it got busy!!
My darling baby is already 12 weeks old! Holy cow where does the time go??

At 12 weeks old Sydnie is THRIVING! 98% in height & 60% on everything else.
She is THE happiest baby ever. We are seriously having so much fun with her. She is constantly smiling, talking, screaming happy screams, and giggling. She is just the light of our lives. She is already such a little ham, has so many hilarious facial expressions. She makes us laugh so much.

She has discovered her hands, and BOY does she love them!! Yum yum! She is constantly eating them. It's pretty cute.

She is getting so big so fast! I posted last week that she started rolling over. Crazy! I just can't believe how fast time is going by. I can't imagine my life without her. She is just my everything!
Love you baby girl!

this just in... ROLLING OVER!

Sydnie ROLLED over TWICE this week! From tummy to back. She is getting so big! I wish I could freeze time & keep her little forever!

Sydnie Updates...

Sydnie is getting soooo big! And cuter by the minute... I just love her to death. I take many pictures on our long summer days hanging out.

Here she is being cool wearing her hoody.

Sydnie is very lucky to have many people in her life that just adore her! Her Aunt Sadie & Uncle Jordan love her so much, and come play with us quite often. They are the only people I've left Sydnie with. They are amazing babysitters, & I never worry when she is with them.

Sydnie LOVES her Grandpa, & he loves her too! I got a couple cute pictures of them. I love her smiles!

This little baby girl is SOOOO loved!!

The big 2-8!

This past week I celebrated my 28th Birthday! Just saying it makes me feel old & tired. :) I woke up in a really bad mood. I don't know why, but honestly, the last few years on my Birthday, I'm super cranky. I think getting older is especially hard for me. That & Birthdays were so exciting when I was growing up, that now, nothing compares to those fun days I had celebrating as kid, and it just makes me in a bad mood, let down since I have such high expectations.
But I woke up to streamers on my bedroom door, & a decorated house, and my Dave's version of "making me breakfast"... ( a bagel, a yogurt, & a pile of taffy... hahahaha.. oh & a box of bisquick, like he had intentions of baking me pancakes or something... hilarious)

My Day started out crappy, because I just wanted to be in a bad mood. It ended up being one of the best Birthdays ever. My husband always works so hard to make me feel special, and like a princess. I love him so much. I really love love love him!
He gave me my first real diamond earrings. Love them. Love him!
We went to dinner with 13 family members from my side & Dave's. It was awesome. Sydnie was such a good baby at the restaurant & slept most of the time so I could eat & enjoy!

When I got home it was overcast, and sunset, and lightly drizzling.. My favorite. So I got on my bike & turned up the tunes, & went on a bike ride by myself, & reflected on the year-- soooo much has changed in my life. My entire life is not the same as it was a year ago. A year ago I found out I was pregnant. And nothing in my life has been the same since! I have been so blessed this year. We bought our first house, moved 2 times, had a baby, quit my job... It's been crazy, but honestly, THE happiest, & BEST year of my life!! As I was riding my bike I thought about all this, and how happy I was to be alive & healthy-- and to have all the wonderful things I have. All in all, it was a great Birthday.

My entire family pitched in and got me this amazing firepit... so the next night a backyard Birthday BBQ was in order!
It was a blast!

We ended the night by lighting some sparklers...

All in all, it was an amazing Birthday. :)

4th of July weekend

What a fun Holiday! I absolutely LOVE this time of year. Since I was little, I always knew that the 4th of July meant my Birthday was just a few days away, so it made it that much more exciting. I love the BBQ's, the sunny weather, swimming, popsicles, ice cream, sprinklers...etc etc! It was so fun this year to dress Sydnie up in Red, White, & blue... just like my Mom always dressed me.
We started off the Holiday weekend with a BBQ on Saturday in our Backyard with some friends & their kids. Sydnie would NOT go to bed, she was too wound up with all the excitement, so we kept her up with us. I think she looks so cute in her little white onsie (what she has been sleeping in these days because it's been so hot) She was just so happy to be up with everyone, it was funny. She stayed up for fireworks & all!

On the 4th of July, we had made plans to go swimming for the first time with Syd at my Grandpa's pool. I wasn't going to let a little rain stop that! The day was overcast with a little rain. But we still got in the pool, only for a few minutes... but she loved it! I knew she would, because she LOVES the bath. And my Grandpa keeps his pool super warm.

Later that evening, we had family over here for another BBQ & fireworks. We discovered that we have a perfect view of the Country Club fireworks from our front yard! It was awesome, we didn't have to go anywhere. We BBQ'ed chicken, and ate all night long, and did our own firework show. It was a fun day!

Sydnie has a cousin that was born 4 months before her, and we want them to be best friends, so we always pose them together. Haha. They don't like it as much as we do. But we think they are adorable!! Best Cousins forever!! Carter is a cute little boy, we love him! It's funny, because Sydnie is so tall, they are the same length, he's just a little guy in length. So it's hilarious when we put them next to each other, his head looks giant next to her. We call him Mega-mind. hehe.

AWESOME HOLIDAY! Can't wait for more summer fun!
