Well I normally don't post this much on the blog, because there is usually not anything too exciting to blog about. But then the Holidays come along, and so much is going on, and this is almost like a mini journal to help me write down on these memories!
So this week we got a tree, for our own home, and with my Dad & his family. I love picking out the perfect Christmas tree. The past few years I've done a fake one, but this year I decided to go for a real one. It doesn't really hold up all my big ornaments as well as a fake tree does, but oh well! Its up and decorated!
And I got some sweet new ornaments this year, that I love! (excuse the crappy quality of the tree and ornament pictures, it was on my cell phone)

This week we also had my company Christmas party... well for us there is a special significance to this party, because 6 years ago it was our VERY FIRST date! I needed a date to the party, and Dave was a friend of my older brother Kasey, and he hung around at our place a lot, and I thought he was fun, and just asked him if he'd come to this "dumb Christmas party" with me, trying to make it seem like it was not really a date, so he didn't get any ideas... well, who knew that after that date we'd fall in love and date for 5 years (way too long) and then get married! Sinclair, where I work, always does an amazing Christmas party, either held at The Grand or Little America, and they always have a centerpiece that someone at your table will win... and every year except for one, we have always won the centerpiece! So I guess Daves my good luck charm. Anyway, it was the 6th anniversary of our first date, so it was fun. We always get all dressed up and have a good time. So, so far the Holiday season has been great!! Here are some pictures from our party, this is literally the ONLY time Dave wear's a tie every year... :)

Grandpa Ed

So during this very busy long weekend full of family fun, my Mom was in town, and we decided to go decorate my amazing Grandpa's grave... he died when I was 8, but he was my hero, and made a good part of my childhood magical, especially Christmas.
I love & miss you Grandpa!

Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving, and has fun getting ready for Christmas!

(sorry these pictures are kind of crappy they are from my Mom's cell phone)

Deck The Halls!

Well, it has begun!! The Christmas COUNTDOWN! I know, I know, we have not even had Thanksgiving yet, right? Well, I'm just too darn excited, so this weekend we are putting up Christmas in our place, and the Holiday festivities will soon begin!
We LOVE Christmas, and are so excited. The week of Thanksgiving is always such a fun one for us, we both usually only have to work Monday & Tuesday, so we get an extra long weekend, spending it eating, Christmas shopping, and spending time with Family & Friends. And this year is no exception. Next week is packed full of fun Holiday things. My Mom & Grandma are flying into town, and we have 3 different places to go to for Thanksgiving... that's the joy of having divorced parents, and inlaws!
With the holidays starting, I wanted to share a recipe for my favorite Christmas treat, it's delicious and a family tradition. This recipe has been used in my family since before my Mom was born, and its the best.
Enjoy!!

GINGERSNAPS
Cream together:
1 1/2 Cup softened butter or margarine
2 Cups of Sugar

Add & continue creaming
2 eggs

1/2 Cup Molasses
Mix in
1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger

Add
4 1/2 Cups flour - this is an approximate amount - you can vary this according to the desired hardness of the cookies. (we like them extra "snappy")
Chill dough. Roll in balls. Dip in sugar. (you can use red or green colored sugar to add a Holiday touch) Bake @ 350 for 10-12 minutes.

ENJOY!

Hard workin' Dave

If you don't already know, Dave is a computer programmer/software engineer. He started at Waterford Research Institute just over 2 years ago. During the last two years they have developed this product for 2-3 year olds, and Dave has been hard at work on this project for the last 2 years, and it's all coming down to these last two weeks before the Beta version is released! He will be working a lot of late nights and overtime in the next two weeks... and that is why we want to invite all you friends and family out there who have 2 - 3 year olds at home to go check out the free trial for these games. He has been working hard, so go and check it out and try it out in 2 weeks! Its learning games that will help kids learn ABC's, colors, and all that fun stuff.
So click on this link, and sign up to go try it out in 2 weeks!

Halloween!!

Both Dave & I love Halloween, and we're both just still kids at heart, especially Dave, as you will notice his amazing costume this year... We had a great time. Earlier in the evening we had dinner up at my Dads and went trick or treating with my cute niece Maren. It was cold and rainy, so she didn't last very long. Then we headed to a party one of our friends had. It was a lot of fun!! Some of the costumes at that party were insane, and so hillarious!
Anyway, hope everyone had a happy Halloween!!! Here are some pictures of our costumes!
