Family is the best!

My Mom came & visited.... ( I love my Mom & hate hate that she lives away from us in Arizona... although I don't mind visiting her there in the winter because its warm)

Also, while my Mom was in town, my Grandma was also visiting... she lives in Cali "part time", and visits her home here in Utah a few times a year... and while she was here, we actually got all the cousins together on that side... I'm pretty sure we have not all been together in a picture since we were little kids, like at least 10 or so years ago... there is only 6 of us, but it's been hard for us to ever get together since everyone grew up and went their own ways.... so we had to take a picture!

.... and that's a WRAP! p.s. Family, I LOVE YOU!

I heart Celine

Well, it's been awhile, so I thought I needed to update the blog... I wish I had something exciting going on, so I had more to post about. But life is just life, same old boring stuff!

Valentines Day was a good one, we went out to eat at Ruby River, and waited WAY too long, we went early, at about 4, and still had to wait an hour and a half, people who got there after us had to wait 2-3 hours!... Dave always does something cute, and I felt bad, cause I figured us going to dinner was just going to be it (so I didn't do anything)~ but he surprised me with a cute little card & stuff. I love cheesy stuff like this & he knows it!

A few weeks ago I got to enjoy my Christmas present... finally. Dave got me Celine tickets for Christmas, & I took my sister in law, she loves Celine... those who know Dave know that him sitting thru a Celine Dion concert would be like torturing him. So I took someone who would appreciate it! It was great, Celine was amazing & we had great seats!

I must say that I love this girl~ my sister in law is GREAT, it's always great when I find someone who enjoys CELINE on the same level I do... and she sure did. This was the 4th time I've seen Celine in concert, so it was exciting for me, but I've seen her before, so my excitement level was not nearly on the same level as Brennan... I'm pretty sure she almost cried a few times. hahahaha, Brennan, you're awesome! Way better than dragging Dave to go & watching him roll his eyes the entire time. And I'm pretty sure he was excited to get out of it... :)
I loved all the gay guys surrounding us... clapping and dancing and singing along, those dudes knew the songs better than I did, not to mention the I LOVE CELINE t-shirts they were wearing... oh man, Dave would have KILLED himself if he would have gone... I can't decide what would have been better, watching Dave at that concert... or watching Brennan almost cry from the excitement... hahaha. Either way it was a great & entertaining night!

Jackson James Barker....

So this past Friday, at 3:24 p.m., this delightful, precious, perfect little baby boy was born! My "BFF" Jacque had her baby... oh man, there is just something about a new little baby that just melts your heart. He is so adorable, and I didn't want to leave and give him back to his parents, I just wanted to hold him forever.
Congrats guys, you make cute babies!!

A bit of change...

I needed a change of scenery.... or the lack thereof in the frontroom. Ever since we repainted, remodeled, put in the new floors and such this past summer, we put away most of our decor in storage, and never brought it back out... life just got busy.... so I got real sick of this totally blank room, and with a very small budget, I attempted to redecorate! Sometimes little projects like these make such a difference. I love change...
Anyway here are all my thrift store finds... this weekend I plan to paint the old ugly coffee table, and misc tables I have in the frontroom, they were a hand me down from my Pops. But everything, minus the mirror, is brand new, and I spent under 200 bucks!! Pillows, vases, artwork, rug, new curtains (ok they are sheets, but you can't tell)... It was a fun project, and is ongoing... and helps me get my mind off any stress that might be going on!

Just what the doctor ordered...

I must say, how does anyone in the world survive with out their Moms? I know it's hard enough for me with her being 10 hours away in Arizona.. and I don't know what I'd do without her. I've been having some struggles lately, and there is nothing, absolutely NOTHING like a Mom to take care of you, and love you, and make you feel like you can conquer the world.
I came in on Thursday, and we just spent the day relaxing, had dinner.... and then I made her go jogging with me-- what a hoot that was! :) Then we came back, sat in the hot tub while we were in the hot tub, looking at stars in the sky. And let me tell you... the weather there is just perfect right now, like springtime in Utah. I was LOVIN' it.

The next day was even better... wow! She took me to this resort called The Princess... and a spa at the resort called Willowstream. Now, I must admit, I love spas, and have been to quite a few in my day. But there was NOTHING that compared to the amazingness of this. We relaxed in the mineral pool, then up top in the outdoor pool we laid in the sun, played in the mineral pool waterfalls, relaxed in the hot tub, and in the steam room, and the BEST the "inhalation room" which was just this dark cool room that was surrounded by aromatherapy type scents. Heaven! We then got pedicures... best pedicure of my life! I sipped on the most delicious "prickly pear" lemonade.... and my absolutely NEW favorite drink ever, the Kiwi Cactus iced tea. It was divine, and a day I will never forget.

That night we went to see my AMAZING cousin play in his band called The PJ's... I had never heard him play, and I was just so amazed. He was great, and it was so much fun to see him, and to see him play. He's so talented.

(The PJ's!)

( me & the Band)

The next day we headed out to Sedona, AZ.... which is so much like Southern Utah, big red rocks, and mountains. But very beautiful & fun.

All in all, it was amazing... to be with my Mom, and to forget about life problems... she is the best! Moms can solve everything... at least temporarily!! :) I miss my Mom already... some time away and being with my Mom is just what I needed! :)

One lucky gal....

I had one of those weeks, I've been kind of moping around, and not feeling like myself, in a depressed mood, I always get like this in the winter. And I think there is so much excitement the entire month of December, when January hits, and there is nothing going on, you don't see your family as much, and things just go back to normal... and I always get sad after the holidays. So I was feeling more emotional than usual as I was going thru our computer and all the old picture files, and came across a file of my pictures from when I was little. It made me think back on the wonderful childhood I had, and how lucky I was to have such amazing parents & grandparents. It's weird to think that so much time has passed since these pictures were taken, and it makes me feel homesick in away, if that makes any sense.
Anyways, these are my favorite pictures I found... I love my family so much, and totally miss my Grandpa. I couldn't exist with out my family, they are my best friends, and we have always been so close. Looking at these pictures makes me want to have my own family...... SOMEDAY down the line. :) I can't wait to have fun and make new memories with my own kids someday. I just feel like one lucky gal to have such great siblings who are my best friends, and such great parents, although they are no longer together, have stayed amazingly strong and been such a great support to me & I love them dearly.
Oh man, how I loved my "wormy" pajamas... and my big brother Kasey!
Hahaha, do you think someday we will all look back at our own hairstyles, and wonder what we were thinking? My Mom has a full on MULLET in his picture! I love it.
I love this picture, my Grandpa was my hero, and so much fun! I miss him!
I've always had a close relationship with my Dad, ever since I can remember. I love this guy, he's an amazing man and the BEST father.

OK, well this post was more for myself than anything... so I apologize for getting all sentimental!!
And other than that I don't have much to report on the home front... things are pretty boring the last few weeks. We went skiing once, and that has been the extent of our excitement... Oh, and we're going to Arizona in 2 weeks to visit my Mom who I miss dearly!
